Internet Explorer Security Settings for CatExpress Directions Added

Directions on how to update your Internet Explorer Security settings to work with CatExpress have been added to the Cataloging page. Every once in awhile Microsoft updates will undo these settings and they may need to be redone. These instructions may also come in handy if you get a new computer or are cataloging on a computer that you haven’t used CatExpress on before. Let us know if you have any questions.

Cataloging Update

Hello All!

We discovered that while attaching holdings during the catalog process, you will now need to change BOTH the ‘Current Location’ and the ‘Permanent Location.’ You only had to change ‘Current Location’ before the new update, now you need to change them both. I’ve attached a screen print so that you can see what I’m talking about. It’s not a huge change, but you will need to be sure to change both boxes.

VERSO Function Keys

Function Keys
The Circulation module provides several programmed “function” keys that facilitate “one touch” access to
frequently used features and functions. Function keys available for use with the Circulation module are listed below.

Circulation Function Keys
F2 Opens the Patron Checkout, Status & Reserves “Search” screen.
F3 Opens the Item Checkin screen.
F4 Opens the Renew Checkout “Search” screen.
F5 Opens the Add a User Account screen.
F6 Opens the View All Reserves with Available Copies screen.
F7 Opens the Add Brief Record from Circulation screen.
F8 Opens the Circulation History Report Setup screen.

VERSO Search Causes IE (Internet Explorer) to Crash

When doing a search in VERSO with ILL Resources and Cataloging Resources selected Internet Explorer might crash or Stop Responding. This is a known issue having to with IE’s Smartscreen filter being on. The following document should help.

Deleting Reserves

An item which is awaiting pickup, in other words it’s reserved for
checkout, needs to be checked in in order to “delete” the reserve, by
checking in the item, Verso will check to see if there are any other
reserves that item might satisfy.
